Digital Radiographs (X-rays)

The new dental technology involving dental X-rays is digital X-rays. They offer the advantage of an 80 percent reduction in radiation, no need for film or processing chemicals, production of a nearly instantaneous image, and the ability to use color contrast in the image. The speed in which a dentist gets to see the image is about three seconds, compared to five minutes with conventional X-rays. In addition, because they are digital, the images can be sent electronically to the referring dentist.

In our office we use the DEXIS system, which has one of the highest ratings of any system available  in the dental market today.
