Modern Equipment an Added Benefit
During his evaluation, Dr. Gould may use an intra-oral camera. This specialized machine uses a tiny camera and a TV screen to better highlight your periodontal problem.

To ensure that you feel as comfortable as possible during your visit, Dr. Gould uses laser technology in his work. Laser surgery is fast, effective, and extremely safe to use. The laser works by reshaping tissue with a concentrated beam of light; moreover, in many cases, it eliminates the need for stitches.

The new Periowave pocket disinfection system in many cases reduces the need for corrective surgery

The use of an operating microscope which can magnify up to 15X, greatly improves the precision of many procedures and minimizes the size of the operative site to the extent that frequently, no external incisions are necessary.

During treatment, only sterile water is used and Dr. Gould uses state-of-the-art infection control to sterilize all instruments.

All water lines are equipped with special systems that allow them to be disinfected on a daily basis. As an added safety measure, this equipment is regularly monitored by a microbiology lab at UBC.
